Richard Dante

 aka

The Humungus

Date of Birth:  April 15, 1970

Marital Status:  Divorced

Position:  Leader of the Dogs of War

Character Traits:  A true dominant who demands respect and loyalty.  Not easily angered since his powerful strength and intimidating, muscular build provides him with control over most situations.  Does not liked to be questioned or have his authority challenged.  Rarely smiles.  He believes intimacy with those he commands weakens him as a leader.

The only time his temper surfaces is when his second-in-command, Mighty Wez, disobeys his orders.

BACKGROUND

Born to wealthy parents in the rich suburb of Menadosa, Richard was reared by his nanny and then sent to boarding school at the age of six.  In school, he excelled in language and literature.  He also participated in sports and was captain of the rugby team.  In high school, he maintained a high grade-point average and continued to participate in most of the extracurricular activities offered by his private school.

After graduating, he attended university but left after his second year to marry his high school sweetheart.  He enrolled in the army much to his parents' disappointment.

When the Two Mighty Tribes went to war, Richard was sent out with his platoon.  During a battle while trying to save a private, he was severely injured when his jeep rolled and the engine battery leaked.  The acid burned his face.  He was shipped off to a local army hospital but due to the war's intensity, no doctors could be flown in to oversee the facility and just nurses were on hand to assist the wounded soldiers.  Thus, Richard was left with a disfigured face.  After being discharged and shipped home, he arrived to find his wife had fled with his best friend.

Angered beyond belief that the army he faithfully served turned their back on him, and devastated he lost his wife, he hunted her down, finding the deceitful woman cooped up at a local hotel with her lover.  He murdered them both in a fit of rage.

Realizing the MFP would seek him out, he donned a mask and wandered out into the wasteland to hide.  While making a fuel stop in a small town, the Smegma Crazies arrived to pillage the defenseless settlement.  The local store happened to be owned by The Toadie

Seeing a new opportunity at hand, Richard challenged the leader of the Smegma Crazies and murdered the marauder in the street while the villagers watched.  Astonished that someone overthrew their mighty leader, the Smegmas embraced Richard as their new leader, dubbing him as The Humungus since nothing seemed capable of stopping him.

Richard decided to revert back to some qualities of his previous lifestyle so he gave the Toadie two choices, be his manservant or die.  The Toadie chose to live.

Leading the Smegma Crazies, the Humungus and his new unit set out deeper into the wasteland.  While pillaging farms and small settlements, the marauders kept encountering other nomads of the wasteland, specifically the Mohawkers, led by Wez, and the Gayboy Berserkers, Skinheads and other small gangs.

Always a leader, and grappling for power, the Humungus sent out six of his strongest warriors to deliver messages to the other marauding gangs.  The invitation stated he wished to meet with the leader of each tribe, along with three of the leader's most trusted men.

Two nights later, Wez showed up with Rebel, Leather Face and Glory Rider.  The Gayboy Berserkers and Skinheads chose to decline the invitation out of fear, thinking the invite was just a ploy to wipe them out since they were all fighting over territory.

Aware of Wez's courage, mercilessness and animalistic senses, along with his fearlessness, the Humungus wanted such a warrior for his right-hand.  So he offered the sadistic leader of the Mohawkers a prize:  a young lad with green eyes and long brown hair.  Wez accepted the gift and even offered to help the Humungus overtake the Gayboy Berserkers and Skinheads, along with the other disorganized gangs.  After they overtook the other gangs, all units formed the Dogs of War, led by The Humungus.
